In the midst of the orchard Mostviertel in rural surroundings lies our small, family landhotel Gafringwirt. For three generations, an epitome of mostviertler hospitality and fine cuisine and a fixture for nature lovers, hikers, cyclists and bikers, seminar guests and golfers from near and far.

Cosy rooms in different sizes and categories spread a pleasant atmosphere and a natural ambiance with tasteful solid wood furniture and regional design elements. You can also relax in the hilly natural landscape surrounding the house.

History of the house

How it all began
It was in 1938, when grandfather Anton Gstettenhofer and his wife Maria bought the house Gafring no. 4 as a small tavern with agriculture and 4 ha of land. This was managed by daughter Theresia until 1971 as a simple tavern. Johann and Theresia Hochholzer took over the tavern and it followed a restaurant and the extension of the offer to hot dishes. Shortly afterwards, further guest rooms were built. Game, lamb and fish specialties as well as regional dishes attracted many guests.
When the sons took over the company in 1986, a festive dining room was built for 150 guests. The culinary offer was refined, specialties and products from the Mostviertel enriched the menu. These services of regional cuisine were rewarded with a golden fork 2017 in the Falstaff Gourmetguide.
The Gafringwirt is a founding member of the of the Lower Austrian tavern culture and therefore knows many operational challenges from the practice. Since the establishment of the Moststraße, he has worked as a representative in the Tourism Association.

After the marriage of Johann and Alexandra in the year 1991 the bed capacity was expanded, a reception area and a seminar and meeting room were erected. In recent years, the entire heat generation has been converted to renewable raw materials by wood chips.
The 2016 newly redesigned barrier-free entrance and reception area with regional elements from the pear tree invite you to stay at the Moststraße in the regional fine restaurant with garden and playground.

Our philosophy:

Already in the third generation, the Hochholzer family operates the traditional restaurant and hotel on the Moststraße near Euratsfeld. The Gafringwirt guarantees a piece of genuine Mostviertel. The Hochholzer family with their team serves regional food and drink culture, traditional recipes and regional specialties with ingredients from the Mostviertel region. Our main focus has always been true traditions and family comfort.Here they are pampered with seasonal, freshly cooked food. Accompanied by juices, perrys, or spirits from fruits, which Mostbaron Johann personally recommends. Sporty cycling, hiking on some hills with an intermediate stop in most taverns or by motorbike through the varied landscape, next to golfing, which we love and play. Make your stay an experience immersed in the beautiful countryside of the region which gives us all our affection.
